Today has been a beautiful day, and it’s only 8:48 in the morning! I discovered that today marks only 99 days to go on my countdown! Of course, that’s just an estimate because due dates rarely are what they say. I still think this is a milestone that should not be ignored. Keep growing, baby!
One other thing that happened – I got my first comment from an absolute stranger! It only took 6 months, but hey… it’s the thought that counts. Thank you, donut shop lady!

At 19-weeks pregnant, I’m being told my baby is the size of an heirloom tomato. If you know me, you know I do not like tomatoes, so I had to do some digging to find out what that meant!

That makes me feel good. Almost as good as being able to feel this little one for the first time! I swear, I could lay in bed all morning and feel his kicks, as if saying, “C’mon mom! Eat something!”

After 10 months of abandonment, I’m sure this blog is ready to give up on me. But I won’t let it! Not at least until February comes… then I won’t have time to do anything else but love my growing family.
I know this blog was originally supposed to be about knitting, but my focus has changed. I still enjoy knitting. I’m sure I do! It’s just been too long to tell, really.

It has been five months since I last wrote. FIVE MONTHS. Do you realize how much time that is in the real world?!
Now that I’m done being melodramatic, I will catch you up on what’s going on. I’ve been knitting again! Remember how, when I last posted, I said I hadn’t picked up my bag in months? Well, not anymore! I’m a knitting machine fiend something. Of course, I’m still working on the gargantuan baby blanket for my bestie, but it’s coming along! I’m almost half way through my second skein, which means only one and a half more skeins to go!

I really am an awful person. I haven’t picked up my knitting bag in a month. Maybe even more! Please don’t ask my why.
I begin my new job tomorrow (oh hey, I got a new job!) and my tummy is starting to get butterflies. I’ve already put my desk together since all I did was move across the building. Are you kidding me? I could never give up my connection for possibly free Girl Scout cookies! I just hope everything goes smoothly in this transition and I’m not too under-qualified. I think they’ve been hit in the head or something because I question my abilities… why wouldn’t they?

Ah, yet another distraction from knitting. This is getting out of control.
This is Lucy. She is a 1 year old, purebred Miniature Dachshund. She loves her pink squeaker ball and long belly rubs. She has a long belly, you see? She also loves her pink squeaker ball. Seriously, she will hunt that sucker down and show it no mercy. That ball must have been a cat in a past life because it is pure evil.
She’s our darling baby girl and we are so happy to have her in our home. Rolando’s sister, Kira, brought Lucy home early last year and while she got plenty of love and affection, time could be an issue. She and her family generously let us adopt Lucy with the promise she would still be in the family and would get just as much, if not more, love and affection as before.
We kind of love her.

1. My husband is crazy. He changes his mind way too much and I don’t know what to do about it anymore.
2. My mom and step-dad are moving to Portland. I don’t know how I’ll ever survive without her being within a 50-mile radius of me.
3. This is a bad time to be a Girl Scout. Cookies are on sale now and we’re in the process of starting summer camp registration. Busy is such an understatement, I would throw a cookie rock at whoever said we weren’t busy.
